Anyone else SO ready to shove their Summer gear in the back of the wardrobe and dive into the world of cosy knits as we welcome back bracing seaside strolls and chilled candlelit evenings?! There are such a wide range of knitwear trends to indulge in this season, from sumptuous cashmere to cable knits and chunky fit knits to oversized cardigans.
When lounging around at home or casual, pottering days, I think oversized sweaters are hard to beat, essentially a big soft wearable hug! Lightweight fine knits are perfect for layering and feel sensual on the skin in super soft cashmere, merino and silk blends. Try one under a dress with tights and boots to get more mileage out of your between-season pieces, or pair with sharp wide leg trousers and a statement belt for the office.
Deconstructed knitwear is a huge trend this season with jumpers tied up, knotted and cinched. I'm loving Alexander Wang's double arm layering and Khite cashmere with a flattering side tie, balanced with gently ballooned sleeves. Not only do these create an illusion of a svelte waist, but allow for the onslaught of comfort eating season (say it's not just me?!).
Quirky designs in bright colours are always a winner in my eyes and add cheer to the dullest of grey days... check out my edit of the best knits to be seen in this season.
And don’t forget that it’s #SecondHandSeptember so keep an eye on eBay, Vestiaire Collective, HEWI and in your local charity and vintage shops for pre-loved items which can be just as nice, as well as being kinder to the planet.
